Student Veterinary Nurse

I started working at Medivet Stoke in January 2019 during a week of work experience in school. After this, I continued to work voluntary days during school holidays in order to help the team here as much as possible. From September 2020 - June 2021, I completed a year-long course at college to qualify as a PCA (Patient Care Assistant). Since October 2021, I have been a full time PCA and I'm currently working towards my dream of becoming a veterinary nurse in the future. At home, I have a springer spaniel called Oscar who I have owned since 2017!

Eva is always well cared for at Medivet, she is not the easiest of dogs, but they are very patient with her and take the time to try to make her trip there as calm as possible.

I was very concerned about my dog he had not eaten a thing for 3 days, was very lethargic and generally not himself. I have never in my whole life met a vet so dismissive, no 'bedside manner' and boarding on rude. He made me feel like I needed to make something up to get a prognosis, he kept saying I was being very vague and i'm not giving him anything to work with. He did do a blood test and found my dog had high protein but not high enough to be too concerned. He said i should do a urine sample and bring that in. I took my dog somewhere else as I couldn't face this vet again. As it turned out My dog had leishmaniasis, a very serious condition that is life threatening, whereby dogs are lethargic, no appetite and kidney issues. I'm praying my dog improve.
