Patient Care Assistant

I have over 20 years experience in the veterinary industry after joining the practice in 1998. My role here is practice coordinator and patient care assistant. I look after the insurance claims in branch and manage the day to day running of the practice, along with caring for our patients that visit for routine appointments or who are coming in for procedures. I enjoy building good relationships with the local community and in my spare time I like to unwind with my family and Hydie, my Cornish Rex who is 17 years old.

I started working as a patient care assistant in January 2021 at Epsom Fir Tree branch and then moved over to Morden branch about a year ago where I'm really enjoying my time. I absolutely love building relationships with our patients and their human parents and have a passion for delivering a high level of patient care. I have a university degree in criminology with psychology. I am hoping to train as a veterinary nurse in the future. In my spare time I like walking dogs for neighbours, arts and crafts and reading.

A very good vet practise . I love Dr. Sarah and so does my cats. Melinda and Claire are also very lovely and listens to you . Just that consultancy / vet appointments prices can sometimes be very high .....and wished Medivet offered some support/some sort of exemption/discount for those on disability benefits.

Brought our own bottle of librela to vet as was thinking of donating as my dog seemed to have had a bad reaction to it last time. In the event the vet decided it wasn’t that and she should have the jab anyway. We were not told it would cost us £34 to inject her with our own meds!!! We could have gone home and done it for free as usual. Never occurred to us we’d be charged and we weren’t warned.

Very disappointed with the experience here. Would never return as very sadly the vet we’ve been assigned clearly had no idea what he was dealing with. Our dog has been suffering with coughing symptoms for over a year and a half, we’ve paid here for over 6 visits in regard to the same issue. Each time leaving the vet with medication for our dog that didn’t do anything for our dog. We have then arranged to get x-rays done at another practise as the cost here was much greater, even with then supplied, the vet dealing with this was unable to diagnose the issue and started suggesting that it’s something in the house and for us to home him elsewhere for some time, what a great solution. Fast forward nearly 2 years of our dog having this issue, we’ve had taken him to two other vets which had nearly instantly been able to diagnose the problem to be a tracheal collapse. A common issue in small, older dogs such as ours. Which you’d think a vet would be able to figure out after so many visits. I am very shocked that after so many visits here, unnecessary medication and how much funds we’ve had to spend, we weren’t even able to get an answer about what the condition was and was getting told to re-home the dog for a while , it mostly felt like a guessing game for the vet. Only good thing here is the kind and friendly staff at the reception. Shocking.
