Carys

Receptionist

Carys joined our practice in June 2022. Her background originated in hospitality. She wanted to be a vet growing up, studying all the sciences and volunteering at Swan Lifeline, Windsor, as a teenager, but somehow fell into pub work mid degree and has only just escaped! She has a springer spaniel called Delilah and two cats: Merlin & Morgana. Growing up she wasn't allowed pets, other than hamsters, so the aim is to eventually have a domestic pet zoo!! Carys is very excited to now work with animals which is where her heart lies, even if it's just seeing them come through the door. Working with people is also close to her heart and she gets great satisfaction from good customer service and brightening someone's day.

IF YOU LOVE YOUR PETS DO NOT BRING THEM HERE!! It’s a massive money making scheme. They do not care about the pets in need just their pockets they need filling. The veterinarian (nasareen or something) could t give 2 shits and was rude to me and my family in one of our most vulnerable moments. Belittled us and made us feel we had no choice or say with what happened with our family pet. Stear clear!

I’ve been a client of Maidenbower Vet Practice for several years, and throughout that time, I’ve had the pleasure of interacting with Amy, (who works as a receptionist at the practice) both in person and over the phone. She has consistently been warm, friendly, and incredibly courteous. No matter how busy the practice is, Amy always takes the time to listen and respond with genuine care. Whether it's booking appointments or handling urgent queries, she is always polite, helpful, and efficient. Her empathy shines through in every conversation, making me feel reassured and well looked after. Amy’s professionalism and kindness truly enhance the experience at the practice, and I’m grateful for the excellent service she provides every time.

Have been with these vets for 6 years now for both our working cocker spaniels. We tried other vets in the beginning but the vets here came recommended by friends. When we joined it was a private practice but in the last 2 years it was taken over and became a medivet practice.

Not a happy customer today, what is the point of having guidelines if you are not going to adhere to them? They were a great vet until they became Medivet, now it is just a money making machine!!!

Everyone was great, friendly and nothing was too much and dealt with my human reactive dog with care, there was no remarks about my dog’s fear towards people and they still were very thorough.

Always great with my bunny, they give him lots of love and cuddles when we’re there, they’re very attentive and listen to you. They’re very reassuring and were brilliant when my other one passed on. Can’t fault them!

If you have an anxious or reactive pet, this practice probably isn’t for you. My rescue dog has been registered at Medivet Maidenbower for three years with no issues. However his last few appointments have not been great experiences. My dog needs a bit more time and a fuss made by the vet at the start of appointments to calm him and gain some trust, which at my last appointment was refused. The last few appointments have felt rushed and no real effort to build any rapport with my dog, which is essential to help with his reactivity that I’ve spent a lot of time building up. Because of this my dog became incredibly stressed and I was offered muzzles or sedation, which I didn’t feel comfortable with. I’ve now moved to an independent vet who make allowances for reactive dogs, taking time and giving my dog space, even meeting us outside. I’d like to add that the veterinary nurses and reception staff at Medivet Maidenbower are lovely.

Very good service as a VET, but the practice is looking a bit dilapidated from the outside.
