Branch Partner and Veterinary Surgeon

After qualifying as a vet in 1996 from Edinburgh University, I co-founded the practice in 2000. I'm also an Advanced Veterinary Practitioner in Veterinary Dermatology and take referrals on some cases. At home, I have three children as well as two red fox labrador retrievers, Margot and Nancy, a miniature smooth-haired daschund called Olive and a horse called Lulu. In my spare time I love to walk my dogs, watch rugby, travel and help with the horse. I also sing with my daughter in a Gareth Malone choir at the Latitude Festival.

I qualified in 1998 from Edinburgh University and, since 2001, I have dedicated my career to small animal care. I have been with the Kenilworth team for seven years, and I’m particularly interested in ophthalmology (for which I’m a certified General Practitioner) acupuncture, chronic pain clinics, medicine and dentistry. When I’m not at work, I’m mainly a taxi service for my two sons or cheering them on from the touchline of a sports game. I also love to spend time with my black Labrador called Nessie and my cat, Paz.

I’ve worked in various reception roles over the years before having children; I then went back to work and joined the Kenilworth team in 2015. Outside of my job, I foster Guide Dog puppies and look after my grandchild. I also have a Labrador called Molly and a German Shepherd called Christa, both of which are retired guide dogs.

I joined the practice last year. I'm getting to learn more skills and meeting the lovely clients and all their pets. I studied animal related courses throughout my time at college and always wanted to work with animals. I'm used to working with dogs of all breeds and temperaments. At home I have a rescued dachshund, I love spending time with her whether wrapped up under a blanket together or off out for walks as long as its not raining of course.

A huge thank you to the amazing and helpful team at Feldon who always take such wonderful care of our nervous dog during vet visits. We especially appreciate Simon and Sandra, who always go the extra mile to make our dog feel comfortable and even provide special treats to ease his anxiety.

Amy is an absolute diamond on reception, very helpful and always goes out of her way to help me whenever I have a question or need advice! She is an asset to the team! Jacob is absolutely fantastic, having a nervous dog at the vets can be very stressful for everyone involved but I can not express how amazing he is with my staffy. He gives him the little extra time that he needs to start to feel comfortable. In the last 3 years, Jacob is the first one to get close and do a full health check with no issues which I am very grateful for. Today my boy went in for a sedation and he kept him in his arms, comforting him until he started to come back around from the sedation. You can see how much he cares for animals. I feel very lucky to have found someone that understands what my dog needs when visiting the vets. So a massive thank you Jacob 🙌

Our pets have been with the practice in Kenilworth for a while & have always been given top quality care. Recently had the unfortunate situation where we had to have our very old Labrador put to sleep. As hard as this was, the staff were wonderful & especially Sandra who came in with us. It didn't make the decision any easier, but support like that really makes a difference. Thank you for being so kind, during what has been a very tough time

Such a friendly and accommodating practice. Simon is friendly, generous with his time and clearly cares about his patients. If you're trying to decide between Kenilworth practices, I would say Medivet has been faultless.
