Orthopaedic Surgeon

I have followed what used to be the traditional career path after qualifying from Glasgow University in 1985 initially becoming an assistant in a number of locations, before becoming a partner, then owner of my own practice in Ashford for 25+ years and lastly a branch partner within a large corporate group. I have worked mainly in first opinion practice while taking referrals for 30+ years from colleagues predominantly in orthopaedics (e.g. TPLOs, fractures, etc) and to a lesser extent in soft tissue surgery (e.g. TECA-BOs, perineal hernias, etc) I now work part-time as a surgeon at Medivet Faversham.

Victor graduated from the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain, in 2015. That same year, he moved to Dublin for an externship in a small animal practice. In 2016, he relocated to the UK, working in a first-opinion practice in South London for two years. He then moved to a busy hospital in London for another two years. After exploring various roles, he joined Medivet Faversham to focus on small animal orthopaedics and soft tissue surgery. During the pandemic, Victor returned to Spain, but in 2022, he rejoined Medivet Faversham. Victor has always been dedicated to orthopedic surgery and is currently working towards his surgical certificate as an advanced veterinary practitioner and certificate holder in soft tissue surgery and orthopaedics. In his free time, he enjoys spending time in nature, being with family and friends, and caring for his three cats.

Originally from Transylvania, I graduated as a veterinarian before moving to the UK, where I’ve spent the last 17 years in small animal practice, including nine in Kent. I have a particular passion for surgery and enjoy the problem-solving and precision it requires. Outside of clinic, I trade my scalpel for gardening tools and fishing rods—helped by my enthusiastic six-year-old assistant. I look forward to meeting you and your pets and providing them with the best care possible.

I graduated from university and became a qualified veterinary nurse in 2021. I have worked for Medivet since August 2023 and I joined the Faversham team in April 2024. It's so nice to work with such an amazing team! I have four cats at the moment, all with their own very unique personalities and I have a keen interest in feline weight management and the nursing of exotic animals.

I've worked for Medivet for nearly 6 years and have progressed from a care assistant to a student nurse, hoping to qualify as a veterinary nurse summer 2025. I have wanted to work with animals since I can remember, so being able to achieve that goal is something I'm very grateful for.

I started with Medivet in 2020 as a mobile PCA and worked in many of their different branches and met a huge variety of people along the way. Once qualified, I would like to do a surgical certificate within nursing. At home I have a long-haired cat; she’s called Brie (like the cheese) and she is your typical naughty tortie!

I qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2004 and have been working here since 2008. Being a clinical coach enables me to guide the students on their pathway to becoming Registered Veterinary Nurses. I am proud to have established this practice as an accredited member of the International Society of Feline Medicines 'Cat Friendly Clinic' scheme for the last 7 years. I enjoy the variation that each day brings and have a particular interest in complex wound management.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I pay for the monthly pet care plan and would definitely recommend this to anyone. Teddy my cockerpoo is never anxious when we have to attend the vets as such a fuss is made of him. Any treatment and costs are always thoroughly explained. Their love and well being of the animals, shines through.

My staffy has always received the best care at medivet. The make a fuss of the dog and talk to them before they examine. Mine hates the table therefore they get on the floor with her.

Calm, professional, considerate, not rushed. Thorough approach, great people skills as well as being rightly animal-focused. Reassuring and clear explanations of treatment, plan of action, follow-up care. Been a client with various domestic species for decades as service was and remains outstanding.

We have used this practice since before they were part of Medivet, with our last dog, and they are still as helpful as before. It is not always possible to see the same vet now, due to staff shortages perhaps, but we are always seen as soon as possible, they are great in an emergency and always a very experienced & caring Vet on hand. We have a nervous dog and they are understanding with her. Very helpful staff nurses and reception.
