It seems many years ago that I qualified from the University of Melbourne. Soon after I travelled to the UK to locum and explore my paternal heritage, however I unexpectedly settled in Dorset and never returned to Australia. It is a fortunate person who can spend decades enjoying their work and so I feel blessed to be one of these few. As a generalist veterinary surgeon my role covers treating animals in multiple disciplines, my current area of study is in veterinary dentistry which is an area in which we all can do so much more and make a big difference to the lives of many of our pets. I look forward to meeting you and your pets when you are next in the hospital. Cathie

I graduated from Nottingham University in July 2017, and. In 2021, I embarked on a new adventure as a night vet, where I've had the privilege of tending to the needs of our beloved companions when they need it most. My commitment to continuous learning and professional growth led me to pursue a postgraduate certificate in emergency medicine and surgery. Beyond the life in the clinic, I share my life with four wonderful border collies. These intelligent and spirited companions have taught me the value of patience, companionship, and the joys of outdoor adventures.

Sam

Veterinary Surgeon

Sam grew up near Bath before graduating from London Royal Veterinary College in 2019, where he promptly moved back west to make Dorset his home, initially working with all creatures great and small before settling on cats and dogs. During this time, he developed an interest in small animal medicine, acquiring a post-graduate certificate in 2023. Sam's enjoys all medicine but particularly likes endocrinology, nephrology and oncology, although won't say no to a bit of soft tissue surgery and is one of our vets trained in laparoscopic (keyhole) procedures. However, his main passion is education, and enjoys teaching and training on all aspects of veterinary science to student vets and nurse alike. When not at work, Sam is found at home with his wife (also a vet), two grumpy cats (Neville and Saffron) and one badly behaved but well-meaning Labrador (Sidney), where he is either reading, exploring or trying/failing to become an increasingly unlikely winner of Masterchef!

Kathy and her team saved my Chow Chow and her pups after an emergency C-section. Scarring is almost invisible, perhaps they need to work for the NHS for mothers who have C-sections! I advise people at the first opportunity to join Medivet group! I cannot thank them enough, nor can my pets! THANK YOU!!!!

The vet herself was absolutely fantastic hats off to her really good. However I’m extremely appalled with the receptionist staff first of all telling us conflicting information (told one thing on the phone and another once there regarding payment) and secondly charging an out of hours fee when our appointment was at 6:15pm and they advertise their standard opening hours up until 7pm. Very disappointing but again the vet was lovely and has done everything she can for us.

We took in a kitten we were sold the day before as ir suddenly became ill. We could not claim insurance for 14 days as its a new policy. We had no option other than to sign the cat over to the vets as we were told it would cost so much money and probably would not survive. We said we would adopt him back when he gets better. Phoned this morning to see if he survived the night and was told hes fine. I was told vet would phone back to discuss getting him back. When i phoned later was told he had been rehomed and it was not company policy to tell us where he went. My grandaughter is heartbroken. They have now lost a customer. Awfull way to treat your clients.
