My dog had bad ear infection ,other vets gave me ointments but kept returning all the time went to medivet and straight away new ointment worked said other stuff did not treat the infection he had so keep on going back to this practice seem to really care and have better understanding about my dog which larger places lack caring side especially.

Prior to the regular Vet retiring at the end of the summer of 2024, Best Friends Vet Practice was an accessable and highly pro active service to the local community. The reception staff and Vet nurse at Best Friends in Christchurch, Dorset are amazing but sadly Medivet as a company have failed to provide the adequate service of a full time Vet for paying customers in this local community This has negatively impacted on the care of animals registered with the practice. Medivet expect customers to travel 8miles on public transport to access a Vet on Friday's and Saturday's. The practise failed to provide the service of a Vet at the practice for 2wks up to Jan 7th causing unacceptable pain and upset. Medivets inability to manage their resources appears to lack competency and compassion. This has resulted in an exodus of clients leaving the practice The practice staff at Best Friends go above and beyond in supporting clients to make up the gaping hole in Medivets commitment shortfall.

Not as good now that Stefan has left which is a shame. Different vets with different advise.

The vet is lovely very patient with people at very sad times of their lives. Never had problem booking appointments and emergency treatment can't fault the service. Receptionist are lovely and friendly and always smiling and chatty.
