Hi, I'm Joe! I qualified from the University of Nottingham in 2020 and have worked at Medivet Chorley since October 2021. I have a passion for surgery, and can perform both advanced soft tissue and orthopaedic procedures. I am also doing a further qualification in small animal surgery. In my spare time I enjoy watching sports, going to the gym, and long walks with my Border Collie Storm.

After completing my post graduate degree in Veterinary Medicine from Kerala, India, I moved to U.K. and received my MRCVS in 2005. Since then I have been working as a small animal vet initially in Birmingham, then in the North West and finally settled in Medivet Chorley in 2018. I enjoy all aspects of small animal work with interest in both medicine and surgery equally. Outside of work, I enjoy fell walking, gardening, a bit of baking, watching movies and spending time with my family and friends . I grew up with lots of animals back home in India. Currently, I have some beautiful Koi carps in my garden pond, but over the years, I had two beloved cats; Kitkat and Caramel and some beautiful canaries and finches too. I believe in the strong bond between human and animal and by helping an animal, helping a human too.

Hi I’m Alison. I qualified as a vet from Glasgow University in 1991. I started in mixed practice at Hillcrest Chorley at the old Eaves Lane site! I then did a residency in feline medicine and a PhD in feline respiratory disease at Liverpool University before returning to general practice. I have spent most of my working life in veterinary practice in the North-West except for a couple of years in the pharmaceutical industry and a short period working in Australia. I returned to the Chorley practice in August 2023 where I work part-time. My particular areas of interest are internal medicine and feline shelter medicine. In my spare time I am a trustee and vet for Woodlands Animal Sanctuary, a charity in Holmeswood, Lancashire which focusses on cat rescue; I also enjoy gardening and spending time with my family and elderly Border Terrier!

Night Veterinary Surgeon

Hi, I'm Lucy and I'm one of the night vets at Chorley Medivet. I graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2021 and have been working in small animal practice since. My favourite part of the job is seeing patients that I've cared for go home to their owners after being unwell. Outside of work I enjoy hiking with my 2 dogs and rock climbing.

My name is Jenny. I am one of the night vets here at Medivet Chorley. I have worked in small animal practice for almost 9 years now, and been in emergency and critical care for the last year. I have a particular interest in surgery and have a drive to deliver the best care we can to every patient. Outside of work you'll find me playing sport, usually football, and travelling, I love to explore new places.

Our dog needed an emergency operation to remove a foreign body we had rang around and contacted five to six vets and as it wasn’t a week day the prices where astronomical, got in touch with Medi vet Chorley and Chris was more than happy to see us and reassured us that our fur baby would be well looked after and thankfully he kept to his word. Not only that they were one off the least expensive practices, from the girls at the front desk to the vets who work their and Chris himself, you can tell they have the animals welfare at their best interest and not just about the money which we found alot were, we since have made these our permanent vets and frank gets alot of attention when he unfortunately needs to go! Thanks again for everything you’ve done and saving our baby Mum, dad and frank

Thank you isn’t even close to enough. You’re an angels in a human form guys. My Dottie suffered with breathing for 2 days, and after online consultation with vet ruled out less serious symptoms and left me with life threatening I gave Medivet a call , as it was only close enough practice opened on Sunday . I have been told to come quickly, my baby was put on oxygen on arrival and 5 syringes of liquid was drained off her chest . She was given pills to improve her heart and lungs condition and now she purrs and sleeps peacefully. I have forgot the name of the Doctor - mature handsome gentleman with grey hair - Man - you are an angel , I’ll never be able to thank you enough. For your heart, compassion and genuine love for pets.

On the 23rd October 2024 my mum found out that her beloved meow Jenson had liver failure. We thought he would be ok but deteriorated within 24 hours. The vet and nurse were absolutely wonderful with us and with Jenson. Extremely professional, understanding and caring towards us and Jenson. We couldn’t have asked for better care for Jenson in his last few hours. They allowed us to stay with Jenson until he passed and respectfully left us with him to say good bye once he had gone. Lovely vets.
