Veterinary Surgeon

Before having qualified from Glasgow in 2006 I spent time seeing practice at Betavet and it’s only natural I came back here to work in 2015! After almost 20 years qualified I am still interested in all areas of veterinary medicine but mainly for me I enjoy helping the animals have as stress free a visit as possible and meeting their owners! In veterinary practice there is a huge variety of work which means no two days are the same however I do enjoy cardiology, having grown up with Cavaliers King Charles Spaniels that are genetically prone to heart disease. I also find feline medicine particularly fascinating as their physiology is so different to dogs in a large variety of ways. And last but not least I’m always delighted to see rabbits when they come in having undertaken courses in rabbit medicine. Mostly the satisfaction of examining a patient to find the root of the problem and finding a way to manage it to help both animal and owner makes my day. Away from work my time is spent with my two ponies and walking my two dogs, Monty a very excitable but loving working Cocker Spaniel and Skye, a Collie x Springer who loves to bark and keep Monty in check! I enjoy exploring new places and finding quiet pubs to have some nice food with my husband. He’s trying to get me into golf but still yet to book a lesson!! I look forward to meeting you and your furry friends soon!

Always friendly, kind and caring. The vets are excellent, especially Michelle. Our cat needs regular palliative treatments and he has the best care imaginable. He is never stressed and loves the nurses giving his lots of fuss and lick e lix! I am a retired vet so I know great vets when I see them and I can highly recommend this practice.

I was worried about my Border Collie Bonnie who wasn’t getting over a bout of stomach upset. She seemed to get worse quite quickly so I phoned the practice and got an appointment within the hour. She has an infection and now after just 24 Hours I can see she is on the mend. I’ve been using this practice for over thirty years and I always get good service and care for my animals. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

I would highly recommend this practice. The receptionists are lovely and I have always been treated with respect. I never have to wait long for an appointment. I put my complete trust in the vets there and know I am receiving the best advice (having had a bad experience at a different practice elsewhere, I can appreciate the difference).
