Why is it important for my pet to get regular checks?

At Medivet, we sincerely believe that prevention is better than cure.

A regular health care check gives us the opportunity to spot any potential issues before they become serious. Early detection allows us to treat your pet as quickly and easily as possible and greatly increases the likelihood of a positive outcome.

Regular checks also give us the opportunity to check your pet is developing well and is as healthy as possible. This includes checking their teeth, weight and more. It’s also a great time for you to ask any questions you might have about caring for your pet, and to receive expert advice from our friendly and experienced vets or registered veterinary nurses.

What happens in a pet health check?

Our health checks typically include a thorough nose to tail examination of your pet. Our experienced team will check every detail to make sure your pet is healthy in every way. This will include checking their temperature, eyes, ears, nose, mouth, teeth, skin and more.

Health checks through every stage of your pet’s life at Medivet

As your pet moves through each stage of their life, their health needs will change. For example, a puppy has very different health requirements to an elderly dog. At a health check, your vet or registered veterinary nurse will be able to monitor the unique needs of your pet at the specific stage of its life – for example, paying special attention to an elderly pet’s blood pressure or a puppy’s skeletal development.
