Medivet has appointed Ms Sarah Robertson RVN to the new role of Head of Nursing Education.
Medivet has appointed Ms Sarah Robertson RVN to the new role of Head of Nursing Education to enhance the training and continuing professional development (CPD) of its veterinary nurses throughout their careers.
Sarah Robertson worked in practice for ten years before joining Moulton College as course manager for its veterinary nurse programme. Latterly, she was course manager for several of the college’s animal management programmes and joined Medivet as a veterinary nursing lecturer in 2017 before being promoted to this newly created role in April 2019.
Ms Robertson will work with colleagues across Medivet’s Learning and Development team, awarding bodies and education providers to ensure that the company’s nurse training programme meets the highest standards and harnesses the latest technologies and learning techniques, including blended and social learning. She will also develop the range of CPD offered to qualified nurses and increase the level of support offered by the company’s field-based team of nursing specialists.
Commenting on her appointment, Sarah said: “Our veterinary nurses are at the frontline of the service we provide to our clients and their pets, and it is critical that they receive the training, support and opportunity they deserve to enable them to build a long-term and fulfilling career with us. I will work to ensure that every nurse working at Medivet feels valued and empowered to reach their full potential.”
Commenting, Dr Ciara Mc Cormack, Head of Clinical Operations at Medivet, added: “From aspiring vet nurses who join us as Patient Care Assistants to those who are already qualified and looking to increase their skillset, Sarah’s appointment to this new role shows our recognition of the key role our nurses play and our commitment to investing in their development at all stages of their career.
