I grew up in the wilds of Yorkshire, reading James Herriot and Richard Adams, so it seemed only natural that I became a vet. After a few years, I realised cats and dogs were a lot less muddy than farms and cows, so I moved across to small animals and now I’m part of the amazing hospital team in Poole. When not at work you'll find me curled up with my cats or being the proud mum to my cheeky teenager.

Hi, I'm Adele and I work on the night team covering out of hours and emergencies. When I'm not at work, I am kept busy with my menagerie of two dogs, two horses, a tortoise and eight ferrets. I'm soon to rehome a feral cat too. As well as this, I'm studying for a canine and equine physiotherapy degree which will help our patients while staying overnight.

My own cat was really poorly last year and the brilliant team @ Poole 24hr looked after us both and nursed him back to health.

I have been part of Medivet for 4 years, starting as a mobile PCA before training to become a student veterinary nurse. My favourite part of my job is looking after the inpatients so they are happy, healthy and ready to go home. At home I have 2 dogs called Poppy and Lottie as well as 4 rabbits (Benji, Evie, Teddy and Dotty). When not at work, I like spending time with my pets, diamond painting and playing games.

I'm part for the emergency and critical care night team. I have experience in both first opinion practice and in a referral hospital. My favourite part of the job, would have to be nursing very poorly critical ill patients, making their stay at the hospital as comfortable and stress free as possible... Whether that's abit of classic FM on the radio or a cuddle before bed time

I'm Sian i love all animals shape and sizes and looked after many whilst living in spain for 12years. I currently have a cat called daisy-doo and my 2 axolotls, light fury and toothless. My role is a twilight patience care assistant, assisting the nurse and vets treat the poorly animals whilst assessing emergencies over the phone and talking to worried owners is the main part. Look at becoming a nurse in the future.

I'm a Registered Veterinary Nurse, I've only be qualified a year and a half, so still feel I'm learning everday. I've wanted to work in the veterinary field since I was 7 years old when we used to take my old cat to the vets. My favourite part of the job is when we care for a long term inpatient and every day we see them get slightly better until they are ready to go home. I've got a beautiful ginger cat at home called Biscuit, he is a stray I adopted from work. In my spare time, I hang out with friends and family, watch movies and play with Biscuit

Thank you so much for the care and compassion shown to our cat Harry, and us in November 2024 when we had to say goodbye to him. He was too ill to recover, so that was the kindest thing. Thank you so much too for sending us a lovely condolences card, along with his pawprints and fur clippings.

We are thoroughly disappointed with the care our dog received, she was rushed in on a Sunday as our vets was closed as she was being sick with pure blood, they kept her in for 2 nights and 3 days, when we collected her, they didn't have any really explanation other than how to give meds for her recovery and mention they nipped her when shaving her neck all this was done in the waiting area, what they failed to mention was they never cleaned the cut nor did they put ointment or any protective lamp shade to stop her from scratching it, on further inspection when we returned home the "nip" was actually a deep long cut that was severely infected and was starting to smell, so had to take her to our registered vets for help, ointments and protective head wear. We also noticed her coat was also soaked in her own urine which we can only imagine was because she was not being let out for toilet breaks, when paying the £2000+bill we only received our card receipt and no finalised break down of costs to what we had paid for. For a profession that is supposed to care for our pets and get them better, we look for help in our hour of need, the situation was already distressing enough with our family dog puking blood and not sleeping all night, it's simply the last thing we needed and or expected from such a profession. I really do hope the vet practice understands our frustration and learn that our dogs care was simply not good enough. Our registered vet was also in disbelief when they saw the infected area and explained its severity to us in detail in a private room. Dreadful experience.

Having been with this practice for in excess of 30 years and having absolutely nothing but a positive experience, I was nervous on finding out that the independent Walton Lodge was becoming a Medivet practice. However, aside from a makeover and branding, the care, skill and friendliness of all the vets and support team is still absolutely fantastic - thank you Kate and your team for being the best!

Our cat Bonnie was diagnosed with Cancer the first week of the New Year. We were treated with such caring, kindness and empathy. The vets we saw and the receptionists were absolutely exceptional. Our beloved Bonnie unfortunately passed away. We were cared for with ultimate professionalism every step of the way. The candle lit on the desk was a lovely, heartfelt gesture. We can't thank them enough.

The vets and reception staff here are always friendly and helpful and really seem to care about the animals, not just there to try and get as much money out of people as they can like some others who take advantage. I've only had one instance where one of the reception ladies was quite rude. But other than that I've always had great experiences here. I have previously had very bad experiences with other vets but medivet have always been great and have event my trust over the years

Have used their services on several occasions, always in an emergency situation, including putting my 23 year old cat to sleep on a bank holiday, without bankrupting us, with the utmost respect & dignity that her old bones deserved. Have been so impressed with their willingness to help, when my own vet or their out of hours service, wouldn’t help or wanted a ridiculous sum of money, that I’m going to register my other pets with them and jump ship. They’re a bit out of my area but it’s worth the extra few miles to get decent care when you need it. Reception staff have always been lovely, and gone out of their way to accommodate us and the vets have been caring and offered sound advice and realistic care. Very impressed and highly recommend in an emergency.
